Symphonie software is based on a modern,
state-of-the-art architecture that is API-centric and feature-rich. With advanced

We based Symphonie’s design on current
technology so we could provide a robust platform capable of being delivered to you
as a hosted service through our network, or as licensed software you can deploy
on your own network. Whether Symphonie is hosted or network deployed, it robustly
functions and securely interacts with corporate networks, data and users.

Symphonie is designed
to ensure strict security measures are enforced and compliance initiatives met.
Symphonie's security features meet
demanding network requirements, including encrypted passwords, no SQL access from
the web server, and LDAP and Active Directory integration for single sign-in ability.
You can manage access rights by configuring every user’s permissions, access level
and signoff authority. For example, Symphonie lets you enforce workflow sign-offs
by setting different authorization levels for people that queue the mailing to be
sent from those who create it. Establishing control permissions at every level is
essential for large organizations with email marketing programs that span the globe.
Symphonie’s audit logs help you create
a documentation trail and monitor the details of which users accessed, changed,
or affected system data, such as a mailing or segment. Every creation, edit, or
delete action is recorded in the system to create a detailed audit log of activity.

Symphonie was built
using modern concepts and industry-standard tools so you can have the tools and
expertise you need to confidently secure your data.
Symphonie uses Microsoft’s Application
Server Pages (ASP.NET) development environment for the web site so you have a tool
that is widely known and well supported in the industry. We built Symphonie to handle
the latest secure data communication protocols and to mitigate the security risk
of any interface exposed to the internet.
With Symphonie, all database connection information is encrypted to ensure security
best practices, and no database access is allowed from the web server to the database
server, in case the web server is somehow compromised. Symphonie supports protocols
for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and optionally, a Virtual Private Network (VPN) when
you need it. Symphonie Is shipped with two different web Interface applications
so the one application that requires Internet access has the minimum functionality
and the interface for administrating Symphonie can reside within your company network,
safely limited from Internet users. With external functionality limited to only
aggregating email responses tracking and unsubscribes, you are assured that no passwords
or SQL access is allowed from this interface, so your network and data are never
exposed.
Symphonie email marketing
software has been designed to scale intelligently and accommodate network needs
for redundancy, throughput, and failover protection.
Symphonie easily supports IT department
needs for manageable and scalable off-the-shelf-technologies. In licensed software
environments, administrators can easily add multiple servers to scale the performance
and ensure redundancy for failover protection.
Symphonie was written
from scratch using .NET technology and has been tested initially on Microsoft SQL
Server 2005.
Symphonie has been tested running
a Microsoft operating system, but future versions may support other operating systems.
The internal web application (administrative) was written in ASP.NET and therefore
runs on Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). The externally exposed web
application was written in ASP.NET but with the exposed Web Services API Symphonie
provides can easily be migrated to Apache or other web servers. Symphonie will support
additional database vendors in the future.
